As a newly graduated pilot, you will normally start your career as a First Officer and will be able to fly several different aircraft types with the entire world as your workplace. As you accumulate experience, it is normal to gradually rise through the ranks and become a Captain. The Captain is responsible for managing the flight crew and make sure the flight is being carried out in a safe and comfortable manner.

The integrated airline transport pilot training at Pilot Flight Academy is recommended by airlines such as SAS, Norwegian and Widerøe. The vocational education we offer make our students well-prepared to apply and work for different airlines.

While the ATPL programme is mainly to prepare you for a career within an airline, there are many other exciting career opportunities! For example:

• Airline pilot – Transport passengers around the world for companies like SAS.

• Cargo pilot – Transport cargo around the world for companies like DHL.

• Charter operations pilot – Fly to a variety of destinations on a for-hire basis without a fixed schedule.

• Corporate aviation – Transport passengers and/or cargo for a company (often on private jets).

• Emergency Medical Service (EMS) – Fly patients, deliver life-saving treatment, and organs for government or private companies like Babcock Scandinavian AirAmbulance.

• Ferry operations – Fly an aircraft for the sole purpose of delivering it to an individual or business.

• Flight instructor – Build flight hours and teach the next generation of aspiring pilots.

• Scenic flight pilot – Fly passengers over beautiful landmarks and points of interest.

• Test pilot – While usually coming from a military or technical background, it is not impossible for a commercial pilot to become a test pilot. These pilots use their skills to ensure that new aircraft are safe to fly.
